It all started with a couple of friends with a curious mind for this new thing... called house music. They organized a New Year's Eve party in a small village near Amsterdam for just a few hundred guests and got the hang of it. Several months later The Final Exam took place on June 20, 1992 in Jaarbeurs Utrecht. It was the start of a phenomenon.
Born out of curiosity, Thunderdome became a movement that united the hardcore community forever. We built a culture where thousands found their home. The mid 90's saw us take the world by storm and after 2012 our journey seemed complete. The 2017 resurrection proved that some legacies are eternal with record-breaking editions that followed: 50,000 visitors in 2019, a 2-hour sellout in 2021 and a 30-year anniversary in 2022.
Thunderdome 2025 draws deep from the chaos and creativity of its origins. A tribute to the madness that shaped a movement. Over 30 years in the hardcore legacy echoes louder than ever. Thunderdome stands not only as a cornerstone of hardcore culture, but as an evolving force that continues to shape its future.
December 13, 2025 brings us back home to Jaarbeurs Utrecht where we resurrect the spirit of icons unleashed in the '90s, reborn as symbols for a new era. One night. Pure, unfiltered and undefinable hardcore. Together, we Move As One.
