Hypersomnia haunted Amanda Gaddis all her life. Sudden collapses and hallucinations preyed upon her
senses at every turn.
As a child, she grew up alone in a small chamber within the prison where her father worked as a
guard. Due to her condition, he kept her close under constant watch. Over time, Amanda learned to
keep quiet, to look past the things that "should not exist”.
Her quiet observations over the prisoners continued until the day one offered her a peculiar gift: a
crude optical viewer. Through its lenses, she could watch a streetscape transform in delicate
detail. Ever since then, she became extremely attached to optical toys due to her distorted view of
reality.
Amanda became friends with someone known in the newspapers as Dogma, who was the infamous culprit of
the Marigold Murder Case.
Dogma was a prized subject for phrenological research—a critical step, the scholars said, on the
path toward ultimate justice. But when the scholars' theories reached their peak, Dogma was
sentenced to hang.
Later, Amanda became one of the followers of The Eye of Darkness, a religious cult.
