Positions is the sixth studio album by American singer Ariana Grande, released on October 30, 2020 by Republic Records. Grande worked with several producers on the album, including Tommy Brown, Anthony M. Jones, London on the Track, Murda Beatz, The Rascals, Scott Storch, Shea Taylor and Charles Anderson. Positions is a midtempo album by R and B, pop and trap that discusses mainly sex themes, and features collaborations with Doja Cat, The Weeknd and Ty Dolla Sign.

The title track was released as the first single a week before the album's release. The song debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and yielded Grande their fifth number one single in the United States. This marked her third position at the top of the Hot 100 in 2020, and made her the only artist with five premieres to top the chart. After the album's release, all 14 tracks entered the Hot 100 simultaneously, with the second single, "34 + 35", reaching number eight. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 174,000 units equivalent to the album, which included 42,000 pure sales, marking the fifth number one album in the US. Elsewhere, it reached number one in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway and the United Kingdom.
