These guys are Morgan Freed and T.J. Petracca, and in December 2014 they threw the very first Emo Nite with the intention of creating a happy, communal experience around the music they once listened to when they were upset and alone.
Emo Nite is not a band or a group of DJs. It’s an idea as simple as the desire to throw a party to the sound of a beloved musical style. Often imitated but never truly duplicated.

Emo Nite is not a band or a group of DJs. It’s an idea as simple as the desire to throw a party to the sound of a beloved musical style. Often imitated but never truly duplicated.
Emo Nite can range from a DJ set, to a surprise acoustic set or even a full band performance, but at the end of the day, it's all about the experience.
We transformed a party into a community, recapturing the spirit of how the scene began.
As emo re-enters popular culture with a mix of adoring nostalgia and optimistic future vision, we aim to continue to be an authentic space to celebrate diversity, experience passionate catharsis, and champion authentic expression.
We’re now a recurring event thrown by dozens of friends in over 50 cities in the United States and other cities around the world.
We also run full-day festivals and curate coveted performance spots at festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Firefly, and more.
