decorate with peach blossoms (in the North), apricot blossoms (in the South),
kumquat trees, red banners, and calligraphy for luck.

Kitchen Gods Farewell Ceremony
(Ông Công, Ông Táo)

On the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month,
families bid farewell to the Kitchen Gods who report
the household's affairs to the Jade Emperor.

Shopping at Tet Markets

Traditional foods, flowers, new clothes,
and offerings are bought for Tet.

New Year's Eve (Giao Thừa)

Family gatherings.
Offerings and prayers to ancestors.

First Days of Tet

Mùng 1 (First day): Reserved for visiting close family and
offering New Year greetings.
Mùng 2 & 3 (Second and Third day): Visiting friends,
extended family, and teachers.
Xông đất / Xông nhà:The first guest to
enter a home on New Year's Day is believed to bring either good or bad luck, so this is chosen carefully.

Lion and Dragon Dances

Performed to scare away evil spirits and bring prosperity..

Lucky Money (Lì xì)

Elders give children red envelopes containing money for good fortune.

After Tet "Closing Events"

Visiting Pagodas and Temples: People pray for health, luck, and prosperity in the new year.
Spring Festivals: Various regional festivals, games, and cultural performances like water puppet shows, traditional singing (Quan họ), and folk games.
Reopening Ceremonies: Businesses hold rituals to start the new working year smoothly.
