With a signed contract with 'Walt Disney Company', the animation studios received $26 million to create 3 featured films: Toy Story (1995), Bug’s Life (1997) and Toy Story 2 (1999).

Graphics Group in 1986 was bought by Steve Jobs (Apple's co-funder) for $1o million, staying Jobs as CEO and Ed Catmull as president, establishing then a new company: Pixar.

Later on, Disney dealt with the distribution, marketing and commercialization and Pixar dealt with the movies’ production.

After Toy Story's release, the two companies signed a new contract, in which the profits would be divided and the movie's’ copyright would belong to Disney.

The new company resulted by the combination of two words and its respective concepts - 'pixel' + 'art', being traduced as "the creation of art through pixels", key-words that a good animation company pretends to conceive.

After the contract's end, the two companies begun a new contract that was not accepted by Disney because the profits weren’t being well distributed. With this, Pixar tried to found new companies to make a contract with, when Disney, as it resigned its first movies’ copyright, begun the production of Toy Story 3, without Pixar's knowledge.

The Adventures Of Wally B. And André

At the begining, John Lasseter, an artist, worked with Ed. Catmull to create a new program of graphic computing. To publish that software, John Lasseter created short films like The Adventures of Andre and Wally B and Luxo Jr. who spread not only the software but also their capacities and artistic creations of the new company.

In January 2006, Pixar and Disney achieved a deal, in which Disney bought Pixar for $7,4 billion, making Steve Jobs the most individual shareholder of the company.

Ten years later with a more developed software, Pixar and John Lasseter begun to create a new project: to create the first film made in graphic computing.
